Book Week 2012!

Once again we are celebrating books and reading, this year recognizing great authors and illustrators that make books all happen.

From February 17th till 23rd we are having various activities related to books and reading e.g. book night with a sleepover in school, a play "Tigger is Unbounced" adapted, directed and presented by ISE staff, illustrating our favourite books, favourite authors´studies and classroom presentations, traditional mother tongue readings, Teddy Bear picnics, books swap, characters parade and many more...

Preschoolers are busy having fun with a puppy called Biscuit, created by Alyssa Satin Capucilly.
Reception kids are having many adventures with Franklin the turtle written by Paulette Bourgeois and illustrated by Brenda Clarke.
Grade 1 students have been admiring and studying books by Jan Brett, and Grade 2 is having a blast reading Roald Dahl stories.
Grade 34 author study is on Patricia Polacco, what inspires her to write and what can you learn about her life, family and childhood by reading her stories.
Grade 5 favourite author is Katie DiCamillo who is known for the Newbery Medal winning book "The Tale of Despereaux, the Newbery Honor book "Because of Winn-Dixie" and many more magical stories.
I hope you will have a chance to pop in the morning reading circles, enjoy the classroom presentations of their favourite authos and their work, and parade as your favourite character.

Have fun with books and friends!
